ladybug

I went in the kitchen to make some tea, and I noticed a spot on the ceiling. At first I was annoyed, thinking how am I going to clean that off? When I got closer and looked up, I realized it was a ladybug! A nice little sign of good luck while I WAIT to get on the plane.

Oh, what a cute little "good luck" vision! My family & I will keep you in our prayers. I VIVIDLY remember the WAIT for the trip...it was agony! And we only had 10 days to wait!

Thank you so much for sharing this blog with the Russian adoption yahoo group! And please tell us what you can, WHEN you can! Anxious to hear about your baby!

One other thing...I considered our first trip a REALLY GOOD ultrasound! That way, it wasn't QUITE so hard to leave our 2 for 3 weeks. Maybe that'll work for you too??

Blessings, Laurel

I'm glad you got the sign of good luck. Now that you are packed and ready, a little good luck should go a long way!!

This has nothing to do with ladybugs, Ana, but knowing that you're trying to finalize your packing, I happened to remember something I wanted to pass on to you guys...

I bought a bottle (not the spray, but the old-style fluid) of Rain-X to bring over for our driver. I swear by Rain-X at home to help keep my windshields clean. It makes rain, snow or whatever, just bead up & sheet off with almost no help from the wipers. Dirty windshields are kinda of an OCD pet peeve of mine...

In Moscow, there's an unbelievable amount of sludgy road grime on the car windows.

Anyway, our driver, Alusha hasn't had a day off to try the stuff, but once he does, I'm confident that he's going to love it. It's a cheap gift (probably less than $4 at Wal-Mart or an auto parts store) but kind of a nice, unexpected thing to do for your driver.

Rob, since you've spent so much time in Moscow traffic the last few weeks, maybe it triggered thoughts of bugs on a windshield! Anyway, thanks for the tip. That is a fabulous idea, and I never would have thought of it!
