court date update

I heard from C., and we got an update on our court date. The news was not as good as we had hoped. We were assigned to the judge who is taking vacation in March. She is supposed to review our paperwork on March 3, and assign a court date at that time. Most likely, it will be in early April. The other couple that traveled when we did was assigned to a different judge, and they just received a court date for March 17. They will have their baby home before we even go to court. I am genuinely happy for them, but I had hoped and prayed for the same time line for us. I am really upset right now. Please continue to keep Eli in your prayers.

I'm so sorry Ana. It is so hard once we have to leave them there. It has been 9 weeks since we last saw our little boy, and we have no idea when we will return to get him. I definitely understand your feelings of sadness. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.

I'm so sorry :(. We've been waiting for 10 weeks now, so I know how you feel. This has been the toughest wait!

I'm sorry you drew the slacker judge! The only comforting thing I can say is: we waited about 8 weeks between trips one and two with Simone, and I don't even remember the waiting period now. Doesn't make it easier while you're waiting, but the pain will fade. Lori

I know the wait in between trips can be very hard, especially when it is such a long wait. Before you know it your precious little boy will be home with you and this will be just a memory in the back of your mind. Another piece of the story of your journey to him. Keep in mind that you will have him home in time to celebrate your first Mothers Day. I will certainly keep Eli and both you and your hub in my prayers. Also, thanks for reading the story of our journey to Bella Lina. May I post a link to your blog on my blog? Blessing. I am so sorry. I know it is hard when you compare what happens with another family. Get this. A couple that traveld a week after us to the same orphanage got their courtdate a moth earlier than us. It was so frustrating, so I know exactly how you feel. But try to look at this way. Long after they are home, you will be in Russia enjoying the amazing experience of getting you child! In the long run, it doesn't really matter. What is a couple of weeks?

Dear Ana,
Maybe a vacationed judge will be a well-rested, happy judge! Hope so, b/c I think we have the same one :-). Let's just think that our boys may be coming home during the "Spring lambing" season. Plus maybe we won't need snowsuits, and can actually use strollers. Prayers and hugs. Sally
